Pediatric surgery

If your child needs surgery, we work tirelessly to ensure their safety and comfort. Some of the types of conditions our pediatric surgeons treat include:

  • Anorectal malformation
  • Appendicitis
  • Branchial cleft cysts and sinuses
  • Chest wall abnormalities, including pectus excavatum
  • Childhood tumors and cancers
  • Congenital disorders of the esophagus, liver, bile duct and lungs
  • Cysts and benign tumors
  • Gallbladder problems
  • Gastroesophageal reflux (GERD)
  • Gastrointestinal birth defects
  • Hernias
  • Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)
  • Pancreatitis

We focus on using minimally invasive techniques whenever possible. One of these techniques is video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery, which is used to diagnose and treat issues with the lungs and organs in the chest. During this type of procedure, our pediatric surgeons insert a tiny camera and surgical instruments into the chest, enabling them to view an external monitor while operating.
