Maternity and childbirth services we offer

Our birthing center offers a full range of maternity and childbirth services, including childbirth classes, support groups and specialized care for high-risk pregnancies.

Features of our maternity unit

We are proud to be designated as a Blue Distinction Center+ for Maternity Care by Blue Shield of California, recognizing our expertise and commitment to quality care.

Dedicated operating suites are provided for those who require a cesarean section (C-section). If your baby needs advanced care, specialists at our Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) are ready 24/7 to care for your baby's needs.

Our multidisciplinary team consists of OB/GYN physicians, neonatologists, and anesthesiologists who are available on-site 24/7. The hospital also welcomes doulas at the bedside. We are surrogate-friendly and inclusive of all types of families. This means we welcome co-parents, coaches and anyone who is necessary for support to be in the delivery unit with the expectant mother at all times. We also have dedicated maternal-fetal medicine specialists, including nurses who are fetal heart monitor certified through the Association of Women's Health Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses.

Labor and delivery rooms

We support the bonding experience between mom and baby with skin-to-skin contact, rooming-in, education about breast feeding and access to lactation consultants.

Spacious birthing rooms and mother-baby suites are available with various amenities for comfort, including birthing balls and peanut balls, glider rockers, refrigerators and private bathrooms stocked with postpartum recovery essentials.

Each private birthing room provides a home-like setting equipped with a full bathroom, a sleeping area for support persons, and state-of-the-art technology, including wireless fetal monitoring so mothers can move freely during labor. We also provide an in-room infant warming system to make your baby comfortable. After delivery, recovery takes place in our mother-baby suites.

Mother-baby suites

Our mother-baby suites offer families a spacious recovery room and living area to cherish the first days of your little one's arrival.

Here's what you can expect during a stay in our mother-baby suites:

  • Cozy living room space with couch and table seating
  • Celebratory cake and cider
  • Coffee maker
  • Cozy robe and slippers for mom
  • Mini fridge
  • Newly redesigned patient room featuring a queen-size bed
  • Snack bar
  • Two bathrooms
  • TVs

Suites can be requested once you deliver, and are reserved on a first come, first serve basis. At this time, rooms are only available for those who arrived by ambulance. Moms that have just had a C-section can stay in the mother-baby suites on night two of their recovery.

Please note that insurance does not cover the extra fee for our mother-baby suites. In addition to your estimated costs that were discussed with our admissions team, our suites are $525 per night. Should you have questions on pricing, our financial counselors are available to discuss this process with you.

Pregnancy classes

We are proud to offer pregnancy classes to help you gain the confidence you need for the arrival of your new baby. If you're looking for childbirth preparation, breastfeeding classes, or infant CPR, our expert educators offer the latest information and resources.

Neonatal intensive care

Our Level III NICU provides advanced neonatal care for premature and critically ill infants that need treatment and attention. This nursery has the equipment and specialized staff to care for the most vulnerable of babies, including those that require surgery.

Our 12-bed unit is staffed with neonatologists, neonatal nurses and respiratory therapists. It is also equipped with 24/7 video streaming capabilities that parents can access through a secure online portal. This technology can help reduce the stress and anxiety mothers may feel while being separated from their newborns.

Pediatric care as your child grows

As part of our pediatric services, our specialists provide intermediate and emergency care for a variety of conditions that your child may experience, including appendicitis or thyroid issues.
