Healthcare for older adults
Senior health, also referred to as geriatric medicine, focuses on the medical care and treatment of adults aged 65 and older. Our highly skilled doctors, specialists and nurses are dedicated to helping you and your family make medical decisions and navigate any necessary appointments.
Medical professionals dedicated to senior health
As you get older and your medical needs change, having longstanding healthcare relationships becomes important. We believe in this dynamic and are here to help you with annual physicals and referrals for home health services and nursing facilities.
Our geriatric doctors (geriatricians) provide various types of care, including:
Hospice care
Hospice care is for people who are nearing the end of life. During this time, a team of healthcare professionals can provide comfort, work to reduce pain and address physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs. To help families, hospice care also provides counseling, respite care and practical support.
Palliative care
Palliative care is specialized medical care for people living with serious and chronic illnesses. Rather than treating a condition, the goal of palliative care is to improve the quality of life for both you and your family. Our palliative care team is devoted to working with you on this transition of care. We have case managers who also offer support during this time.
Physical therapy and rehabilitation
Our physical therapy and rehabilitation unit is run by a physician-directed team of specialists who work together to help you reach your optimal level of mobility and function. When admitted for patient care, you will typically stay in the facility for approximately two weeks and receive three hours of therapy five or more days a week.
