Gastrointestinal services we provide
Gastroenterology relates to the treatment of the gastrointestinal tract. At our center, we offer services that will cover all aspects of your GI care.
Diagnostic testing for GI disorders
We specialize in the prevention and treatment of a wide range of digestive health conditions. Our team can provide you with advanced diagnostic testing options.
A colonoscopy is typically performed as a routine screening, or as a follow-up after a polyps removal. A laparoscopic imaging procedure, colonoscopies examine the colon for polyps and other abnormalities. During the procedure, a thin tube is inserted with a tiny light and camera attached to view the inside of the colon, giving our doctors a better understanding of any potential complications that may be present.
Types of GERD treatments we offer
Transoral incisionless fundoplication (TIF)
TIF is a completely incisionless procedure and leaves no visible scarring. The procedure reconstructs the anti-reflux barrier with a specially designed device positioned where the stomach and esophagus meet.
The TIF procedure typically lasts no more than 50 to 60 minutes, and you may be able to go home the next day and return to work within a few days. If you are concerned about the long-term effects of daily-use reflux medications, TIF may be an optimal treatment option.
Surgical GERD treatment
For severe instances of GERD, surgical intervention may be required. Although the traditional laparoscopic procedure can be an effective long-term solution, it still requires several days of recovery in the hospital. For that reason, the number of people who undergo the procedure is relatively small. However, if you possess any risk factors that could impact the effectiveness of the TIF procedure, surgery can be a suitable treatment option. Speak with your doctor to find out which type of GERD treatment is best for you.
