Orthopedic care

Orthopedists are doctors who take care of the entire musculoskeletal system. They diagnose and treat conditions such sprains, strains, broken bones, arthritis and osteoporosis. Some of the treatments they offer include recommending lifestyle changes, applying casts and performing surgeries, such as ligament repairs or total joint replacements.

Hand and upper extremity care

Our orthopedic specialists understand the large role that your hands, wrists and elbows play in everyday life, and work to restore any affected function in those upper regions of the body. Depending on the type and severity of your condition, we may perform joint fusions and bone grafting to ensure you are able to function as seamlessly as possible.

Joint care

When medication or physical therapy can no longer manage pain, it may be time to consult an orthopedic surgeon. Our surgeons are highly trained in various types of joint replacement surgery and offer minimally invasive treatment options, including robot-assisted surgery.

Hip replacements and resurfacing

Hip replacements are usually recommended when you are experiencing an injured or arthritic hip joint. The procedure can help relieve pain by replacing the damaged portion of the hip joint with an artificial joint, called a prosthesis, which is typically made of metal, plastic, ceramic or a combination of these materials.

The Joint Commission has also certified Los Robles Regional Medical Center with the Gold Seal of Approval for both hip and knee replacement.

Hip resurfacing is an alternative procedure to hip replacement. It can help with chronic hip pain and conditions such as arthritis. During this procedure, damaged sections of the hip are removed and replaced with metal implants and components.

Knee replacement

Knee replacement surgery replaces damaged or worn-out knee joints with an artificial prosthetic. While some conditions only require a partial knee replacement, where damage is present on just one side of the knee, some may require a total replacement, where all three knee bones are removed and replaced with prostheses. Since we prioritize minimally invasive surgical techniques whenever possible, recovery in the hospital for a total knee replacement generally lasts just a few days.

Shoulder replacement

Also known as a shoulder arthroplasty, shoulder replacement surgery mirrors knee and hip replacement procedures by removing damaged parts of the shoulder joint and replacing them with artificial joints. Shoulder replacement may involve reversing the standard ball-and-socket relationship to stabilize the joint, replacing only the humeral head of the shoulder joint or replacing the entire shoulder.

Outpatient orthopedic surgery

Many elective orthopedic procedures are performed at Thousand Oaks Surgical Hospital. This location features 21 private rooms complete with in-room accommodations and meals prepared by an executive chef for patients, families and visitors.

Spine care

Our spine care specialists provide both surgical and nonsurgical options to treat spine pain and back injuries. If you require spine surgery, our surgeons are experienced in the latest techniques, including minimally invasive endoscopic spine surgery. Often times, our spine specialists also work collaboratively with neurosurgeons.

Sports medicine

Sports medicine works to address the physical treatment and care that is needed for anyone that plays sports and actively exercises. Following an injury, our specialists work to increase what you're capable of doing and restore mobility so you can get back to the activity you're accustomed to.

Physical therapy and rehabilitation

If you need physical therapy and rehabilitation after surgery or as a conservative treatment method, we can help you minimize your pain and regain full range of motion. For those receiving surgery, sessions begin the day of your procedure and continue throughout your hospital stay. If needed, more extensive physical therapy and occupational therapy services are provided on an outpatient basis at Los Robles Rehabilitation Hospital, located in Westlake Village.
