About Los Robles Imaging Center

Our board-certified radiologists and licensed technologists are committed to providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services in a tranquil environment.

Our outpatient diagnostic imaging services

Los Robles Imaging Center is a freestanding imaging center in the Los Robles Health System, acting as a valuable resource for those in our community needing imaging services outside of our main hospital campus.

To facilitate and accommodate your schedule, we are open during the week as well as Saturdays. Additionally, early and late appointments are available upon request.

Digital mammography

3D mammography, or breast tomosynthesis, has been shown to find significantly more invasive cancers than 2D mammography. Doctors are able to see breast tissue detail, which allows for there to be an increase in cancer detection and a reduction in false positives. 3D mammograms have been proven to also reduce the need for follow up breast exams.

Digital mammography utilizes X-rays to collect and convert them into electronic signals as they pass through the breast. These signals are used to create a digital image on a computer. Digital mammography provides the highest quality breast images to assist clinicians in detecting breast cancer at the earliest stage possible

Computerized tomography (CT) scans

CT scans use multiple X-rays to form cross-sectional images of internal structures, which can be examined on a computer monitor or printed. Often using dye contrast, radiologists can use CT scans to diagnose serious medical issues, such as cancers, cardiovascular disease, infectious disease, trauma and musculoskeletal disorders.

Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) scans

A DEXA scan is a simple and noninvasive procedure used to measure bone density and assist in the diagnosis of osteoporosis. The bone density scan requires you to lay flat on a table while the scanner moves over the top of your body.

Ultrasound imaging

Ultrasound imaging, also known as sonography, uses high-frequency sound waves to produce images inside of the body. The images are captured in real-time to show the structure and movement of the body’s internal organs as well as the blood flowing through blood vessels.

The most common ultrasound exams we offer include:

  • Abdominal ultrasound— Provides pictures of the organs and the upper abdomen.
  • Breast ultrasound — Produces images of the internal structure of the breast that are used to identify abnormalities.
  • Carotid ultrasound — Provides image of the body’s two carotid arteries, which are located on each side of the neck and carry blood from the heart to the brain.
  • Doppler ultrasound — A technique that is used to evaluate blood pace as it flows through a blood vessel. This includes the body’s major arteries and veins that are found in the abdomen, arms, legs and neck.
  • Obstetric ultrasonography, also known as OB ultrasound — Provides pictures of an embryo or fetus within a woman’s uterus. The ultrasound gives the technician the ability to take measurements and monitor the fetus.
  • Renal or kidney ultrasound — Produces images of the kidneys, ureters and bladder.

X-rays

X-rays expose parts of the body to small doses of ionizing radiation in order to produce images of the inside of the body.
